Pardes: The Garden is a set of six hangings designed by Sarah Silver for the fourth floor of the hospital at Baycrest Centre. The main hanging is 12′ x 4′. The central image is a basket of fruit flanked by two regal peacocks. The accompanying panels are Flowers, Pomegranates, Nuts, Figs, and Grain. Each is 3′ x 4′ and has a central vase filled with flowers, fruit, or grain. The hangings are appliquéd, embroidered, quilted, beaded with sections of needlepoint. Many members worked over four years until the project was completed in 1996.
