Holocaust Week

As part of the Guild’s commitment to the Jewish community we are hosting a presentation of Through the Eye of the Needle. This inspiring 30-minute award-winning documentary examines the life of Esther Nisenthal Krinitz – how she survived the Holocaust as a teenager and how she came to tell her life story in a series of 36 fabric collage and embroidered panels.

In preparation for this important event members of the Guild are volunteering to work with Holocaust survivors at Baycrest. Volunteers can help by sharing our expertise and ideas, offering a helping hand to stitch the squares together, and listening to the fascinating stories shared as we work with our hands and our hearts. The group meets at Baycrest on Wednesday afternoons from 1pm until 2.30 or 3.  Please reply to info@pomegranateguild.ca if you would like to participate.
